ITANAGAR, Dec 8: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has won five Corporators seats unopposed out of the total 20 in the Itanagar Municipal Corporation elections till the day of withdrawal on December 7.
Kipa Takum of Ward No. 18, Tarh Nachung of Ward No 19 were declared unopposed on the day of scrutiny that is on December 2 and it continued with three more--Tai Yakia of Ward No 12, Gyamar Tuvin of Ward No. 14 and Kipa Loram of Ward No 20 getting elected unopposed. With this only fifteen more seats remain to be filled.
President BJP Capital District Itanagar, Tarh Soping said that the five unopposed elected corporators from BJP in Itanagar shows the people's unequivocal support and faith towards Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visionary approach towards development and good governance model. He also claimed that the BJP is going to form the Itanagar Municipal Corporation (IMC) body at any cost in the Capital City Itanagar.
