DEBAN, Sep 26: The 4th edition of the Namdapha butterfly meet -2021 kickstarted on September 25 at Deban, Namdapha National park.The event is being organised by Society for Education and Environmental Development in collaboration with the Administration, Department of Tourism & Namdapha Tiger Reserve and National Park.
Participants from eight different states of the country are taking part in the three day long event. Students from different districts of Arunachal Pradesh have also arrived to participate in the meet.
The aim of this event is to sensitise the local youth about the importance of nature and its conservation. At the end of the event, a check list of Butterflies of Namdapha NP will be generated and submitted to the Namdapha National Park.
During the three day event, participants will go to the field for data collection and in the evenings interactive sessions will be held.
As part of the event , a 15km marathon was held today with as many as 58 participants from Miao, Namphai and Kharsang area of Changlang District coming together to run for nature.
