ITANAGAR, Mar 26: District Task Force on Immunization (DTFI), Itanagar Capital Region today convened a meeting on COVID-19 vaccination and Routine Immunization (RI) at the Conference Hall of Mini Secretariat in Naharlagun.
Informing about the state’s Covid vaccination status, DMO Dr Mandip Perme reminded that from April 1 all individuals above 45 years of age will be able to take the doses without any proof of comorbidities and appealed all to participate. Highlighting the importance of RI, he called for proper awareness creation among people with zero tolerance towards rumours and directed his team to ensure all data are collected within time and as per guidelines. DRCHO Dr T Mize through a PPT informed about the status of immunization in the ICR and RI activities.
State Project Officer, UNDP Dr Dipak Milli while briefing about the status of Covid-19 vaccination in the state through a PPT informed that till date 6894 persons have been vaccinated in the ICR since its launch on January 16 last and a total of 83071 in the entire state comprising frontline workers, healthcare workers and citizens have been vaccinated. He also stressed on the need to spread proper awareness regarding Covid vaccination at all levels. CDPO, Naharlagun Ponung Moyong informed that RI is being carried out by the department of WCD in collaboration with the Health department at the Anganwadi centres of the ICR from time to time. Later, EAC Naharlagun Likha Radh underscored the need to take RI and Covid vaccination in the state’s interior areas and called for collaborative efforts by all stakeholders.
