BORDUMSA, May 30: In a shocking turn of events on Tuesday evening, more than 40 drug addict inmates broke free from the Diamond Heart Rehabilitation & Counseling Center in Gidding, Bordumsa. The inmates, all hailing from the Bijoypur area of Bordumsa sub-division and belonging to the Chakma community, fled after launching a brutal attack on the staff members of the rehabilitation center.
The chaotic escape resulted in one individual sustaining a broken leg while attempting to flee. The injured person received immediate medical attention and is currently receiving treatment at a nearby hospital.
The incident triggered a swift response from the local villagers of Bijoypur, who arrived at the scene shortly after the escape. The concerned villagers, recognizing the severity of the situation, joined efforts with law enforcement and the center's remaining staff to contain the situation and ensure the safety of those still inside the rehabilitation center.
