ITANAGAR, Jul 22: Four more casualties on Thursday took the state’s Covid death toll to 208.  However, recoveries have improved compared to the earlier day’s figure.
Casualties
A 40-yr old male Covid patient from West Siang district suffering from chronic liver ailment died today at GH Aalo due to GI bleeding related issue. A 32-yr old female Covid patient from Namsai suffering from brain tumor died on the way to DCH Pasighat today due to severe Covid pneumonia. A 90-yr old female from the ICC expired today at DCH Chimpu due to Covid pneumonia. A 32-yr old male also from the ICC suffering from jaundice died today at RKMH due to cardio-respiratory failure.  None of the above Covid patients were vaccinated with any of the doses.
Recoveries, New Cases, Sample Collection
Among the 486 new cases (asymptomatic 317; symptomatic 169), ICC retained the top slot with  144 (positivity rate 16%), followed by Papum Pare (41), Lower Subansiri (35) and West Siang (34; 10 % positivity).
The first 4 districts from the total 468 recoveries were ICC (122), West Kameng (60), Lohit (38) and Changlang (36). The state on Thursday evening had 4398 active cases and recoveries 40102. Sample collection after improvement over previous day’s figure stood at 6840.    
Vaccination
Under the '18 years and above' age category, 3473 took their 1st jabs (61% coverage so far) and 4120 their 2nd (15% coverage).
Occupancy status
At DCH Chimpu it was 52, at SQF Lekhi 32, Nil at DCHC Midpu, 8 at DCH Pasighat and 21 at DCHC as of July 22 (8 pm ).
Containment Zones
The total number of containment zones in the state spread across 15 districts after Thursday’s reduction is now 59 and the total number of Covid positive cases in such zones is 1003.
