ZIRO, Nov 2: The 3rd edition of  Homestay Congress for the state of Arunachal Pradesh was held at Ziro. This year due to the pandemic the event was observed in a low key manner from 31st January to  2nd February. The 1st Homestay Congress was held at Itanagar and the 2nd at Miao.
Keeping the pandemic in view, this Homestay Congress was restricted to the Subansiri Basin and to 30 participants from across the region.
During the event, Deputy Director Tourism, Bengia Manna Sonam, spoke on the vision, policy and schemes for Rural Tourism and Homestays by the state government.
Bhaichung Bhutia, the former Skipper of Indian Football Team and Ambassador for Association for Conservation & Tourism (ACT), who also attended the event, briefed the participants on Gurubas, the sustainable destination development model which he is implementing at his native village Tinkitam in South Sikkim. He also visited some sites at Ziro.
The session continued on First Aid Basics by the Indian Redcross Society and the status of tourism in Arunachal Pradesh by APTOA.
