AALO, Aug 1:In a devastating fire that took place around 2.30 AM today, 37 dwelling houses, one community Dere, three granaries and 19 rice mills were burnt to ashes at Tadin village. Reportedly huge properties have been lost in the fire accident although no serious casualty has been reported.

West Siang Deputy Commissioner, Gamli Padu, HoDs and DDMO visited the site to assess the losses and provided immediate relief to the tune of Rs.1, 40,600 to the fire victims. A sum of Rs.1, 00,000 donated by Hotel Todo Itanagar was also handed over to the victims through DC Aalo.

The District Administration has called an emergency meeting and appeals have been made to all HoDs, public and business communities to render all possible help from their side and contribute in cash and kind for the suffering people. Electricity and water supply has also been restored. 

ITBP, the Indian Army of 1Bihar Regiment under 5-Infantry Brigade, IRBN, Civil Police and Public are involved in providing food and temporary shelter. The Army and ITBP are providing tents, medicines, ration items and assisting in  removing debris and carrying out other social services in the accident site.

The President GWS West Siang unit, Dr. Nyage Geyi, GSU President Binya Ronya, Galo Ane and other organisations have expressed shock and assured all possible help from their sides.
