ITANAGAR, Jun 30:  Frustrated by the alleged “lackadaisical attitude” of the NEEPCO authorities and state government towards its 12-point charter of demands, the Ranganadi Hydro Electric Project (RHEP) MoU Demand Committee on Friday decided to carry forward its phase wise agitation till the demands are fulfilled.

The demands include immediate drafting of a ‘fresh’ Memorandum of Understanding, proper review of relief and rehabilitation work, filling up of existing vacancies in RHEP from eligible candidates from project affected area, job regularization of recently W/C upgraded APST employees, 1% free power for local area development, establishment of NEEPCO ED office at Itanagar, strict implementation of CSR-CD (corporate social responsibility and community development) schemes on need basis, etc.

The Committee, in a statement, said that the 3rd phase of agitation would be of 36 hour bandh from the morning of July 5 next with total shutdown of NEEPCO establishments and bandh from Yazali to Hoj.

As part of its phase wise agitation, the Committee already closed down the NEEPCO establishments located at Yazali and Hoj for 24 hours on Jun2 19 last besides staging mass dharna.

Meanwhile, it further informed that ambulance and medical services, media vehicles, milk van, magistrate on duty and police will be exempted from the purview of the bandh.
