ITANAGAR, Sep 3: A day after 13 people tested positive for Covid-19 after attending a DJ night party at Aalo, the West Siang District Administration on Thursday launched a magisterial inquiry into the event which was held on August 29 last. Today 34 more tested positive for covid-19.
The West Siang District administration today said that it was not aware of the event and that no permission was sought by the organizers. The said event took place in the outskirts some three and half km away from Aalo town and administration and police were kept in the dark about the show.
"The DJ Night Party was purely illegal and unauthorized and was conducted in secret without obtaining permission from the DA," Deputy Commissioner Moki Loyi revealed, adding a magisterial investigation has been launched to investigate the entire episode.  He revealed that Humgo Rigo Resort has proper license but claimed that the DJ party was not allowed during the lockdown.
The Humgo Rigo Resort where the event took place and Cozy Resort where five staffers tested positive for covid have been declared as containment zone.
“All the positive cases have been shifted into quarantine centers and contact tracing of primary and secondary contacts are underway on a war footing,” the DC said adding that all the village heads have also been directed to keep strict vigil and adopt necessary precautions.
When questioned about the imposition of lockdown in Aalo Township, DC said that at first, the DA planned  to do so for contact tracing but dropped the idea as the government is not in favour of further lockdowns.
“Therefore we have decided to impose section 144 of CrPC in the town to allow the process of contact tracing besides other preventive measures to be put in place,” he added.
The senior citizens of Aalo town have expressed their deep anguish for organizing such event amidst a pandemic and appealed the DC to permanently ban such type of events.
