ITANAGAR, May 13: Covid situation of the state became more grim on Thursday with three more deaths and new infections surpassing recoveries for the 2nd successive day.
A 35-year  old male Covid patient  from SE Complex, near field and publicity office, Pakam, West Siang district diagnosed with alcoholic liver disease died today  at DCHC, Aalo. A 50-year old female diabetic patient with a history of cough and fever for the last 10 days who was brought to the casualty department at TRIHMS in a serious condition expired immediately on arrival and the RAT test showed she was COVID positive. At DCH Pasighat a 56-year female patient  hailing from Nari, Lower Siang district died due to Covid pneumonia.  Meanwhile, with addition of 257 new cases on the day, with ICR continuing to lead with 66, the state’s active Covid count is now 2167 and with 180 recoveries (ICR recorded the maximum with 83) , the recovery/discharge count has risen to 18871. As of Thursday, 1921 individuals across the state were in home isolation. 3080 samples were also collected across the state on the day with maximum collections from Changlang 479, Lohit 486, Namsai 390 and ICR 353.   
As far as occupancy status at the CCCs is concerned, there are 43 Covid patients at DCH Chimpu, 54 at SQF Lekhi, 8 at DCHC Midpu, 6 at DCH Pasighat and 7 at DCHC.
