RONO HILLS, Feb 17: A 3-day international seminar titled ‘Vartman Mein Gandhi-Darshan Ki Prasangikta Tatha Gandhi-Darshan Ka Bhartiya Sahitya Par Prabhav’ coinciding with the 45th Conference of Bhartiya Hindi Parishad, Prayagraj was inaugurated today here at the Rajiv Gandhi University campus.
Inaugurating the event, RGU VC Professor Saket Kushwaha while mentioning that Gandhiji took valuable references and teachings from all religions and recommended them for betterment of humanity, appealed all to put his teachings into practice in daily life. The inaugural session was chaired by the Chairman of Bhartiya Hindi Parishad and Director of Central Institute of Hindi, Agra, Professor Nand Kishore Pandey. In his presidential address, Professor Pandey gave a brief history of Bhartiya Hindi Parishad and highlighted its activities for development of Hindi and other Indian languages and dialects.
On the occasion, Bhartiya Hindi Parishad honoured seven Hindi scholars from all over the country, out of which three were from Arunachal Pradesh. Sahitya Academy awardee YD Thongchi was presented with the Acharya Hajari Prasad Dwivedi award, while the Dr. Ramkumar Verma Samman went to Jumsi Siram and the Acharya Nand Dulare Vajpayee Samman was presented to Professor Oken Lego of RGU for their contributions towards creative literature and criticism.  Among those who spoke during the inaugural event were Vice Chancellor of Mahatma Jyotiba Phoole Rohelkhand University Professor Anil Sukla, Acting Chairman, Uttar Pradesh Hindi Sansthan, Lucknow Professor Sadanand Prasad Gupt, Satradyaksh, Uttar Kamlabari, Majuli Janardan Dev Goswami, Commandant, NDRF Umesh Kumar Thapliyal, Pradhanmanti, Bhartiya Hindi Parishad Dr. Bharat Singh, Professor Oken Lego who is also the Dean, Faculty of Languages, RGU and Head, Department of Hindi, RGU Dr. Shyam Shankar Singh.  The distinguished invitees later released the souvenir of the conference titled Hindi Anusheelan, a journal, Hindi-Adi Adhyeta Kosh and Hindi-Monpa Adhyeta Kosh.
The conference which is being attended by more than 150 professors and scholars from across the country and delegates from Japan, Uzbekistan and Nigeria witnessed a cultural programme presented by the students of RGU’s Department of Hindi. RGU PR
