PASIGHAT, Dec 27: The much awaited eleventh edition of Late Onyok Moyong Memorial Cricket Tourney 2020 is underway here in Pasighat. 28 teams including teams from neighbouring Assam are participating.
The first match today on its fourth day was played between Woodlanders vs Amazing11,which the latter won by 6 wickets.
The Tourney is organized by Districts Sports Officer & All Bogong Students’Union(ABSU) led by Secretary Games & Sports, ABSU cum Chairman Organising, Gombo Tamin & East Siang Cricket Association.
General Secretary, AAPSU, Tobom Dai paid tribute to Late Onyok Moyong, during the inaugural ceremony on December 24 last and recalled the sacrifice and contribution made by Late Moyong for cause of the Bogong area and district, whose ideals are cherished deeply by the people of Bogong Banngo and the district in general. Dai called upon the participating teams to showcase & display their sporting skills to the sports lovers of the district with spirit of fairplay & competitive spirit.He also officially opened the maiden game.
Principal IGH Higher Secondary School,Pasighat Tatem Taloh, attended as the Guest of Honour along with President Bogong Banggo Yameng Kebang ,Tagon Tasung,Mandal President BJP,Asar Padun, President & GS all East Siang District Students Union, Oyin Yosung and Tonong Darang,senior citizens and spectators.
All the teams are vying to clinch the trophy, the final of which will be a delight to witness for cricket fans to be played on January 10 next.
