Following the receipt of a report on the appointment of illegal teachers in Longding District, a meeting was promptly convened on May 23 last. During the meeting, it was decided to issue show-cause notices to all individuals identified as having been unlawfully appointed as teachers. Additionally, a committee headed by the Special Secretary of Education was formed and instructed to submit a report within a five-day period.
Based on the committee's findings, it has been resolved to terminate the employment of all 28 PRT teachers who were appointed in violation of the law. In response to inquiries, Tedir also revealed that criminal proceedings will be initiated against the implicated officials.
Earlier, the minister had directed all District Deputy Directors of School Education (DDSE) and District Elementary Education Officers (DEEs) to provide a comprehensive report on teacher appointments from 2018 onwards. The directive also included the preparation of a district-wise list of teachers serving in various capacities, along with a reconciliation of their salaries by the respective DEEs.
