ITANAGAR, Sep 18: Arunachal Pradesh Police has charge-sheeted at least 25 people in connection to the PRC violence which occurred in February 2019, informed Superintendent of Police (SP)-SIT & PRO, Dr Hemant Tiwari.
Addressing the media at Police Headquarters today,  Tiwari stated that at least 10 cases from different Police stations of the capital region related to the PRC protest were transferred to the  SIT for further investigation.  SIT has charge-sheeted 25 people in connection with two different cases of Itanagar out of 10 cases.  CJM court Yupia has also summoned the 25 people to appear before the court on the next hearing scheduled to be held on 2 December 2020, added SP- SIT.
While responding to the query, SP-SIT further disclosed that at least seven people were arrested and released on bail and the rest of the accused were being chargesheeted without arrest. The case No. 59/2019 U/S 147/148/149/435/436/427/109/120(B) IPC R/W Sec of PDPP Act and  case No 66/2019/ U/S 147/148/149/186/325/326/307/353/332/427/109/120(B)/ IPC R/W Sec 3 of PDPP Act were registered against the 25 people at Itanagar Police station.
When asked about the other remaining cases, Tiwari informed that  in most of the cases accused are almost same, so the Court has taken its cognizance on these two cases out of 10 and accordingly  summoned them for the hearing. All the cases are chargesheeted and submitted already so it is the call of the court to summon the accused, stated the SP.
Further, replying to a query on  the investigation against official or armed forces who fired bullets on the mob that led to the death of three youths,  SP  informed that the case is not under the SIT and state government may have constituted a committee for the same.
