Gumto, Sep 18: The first Language laboratory of Papum Pare district was inaugurated at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), Gumto under Doimukh sub-division on Saturday.
“Despite being well-equipped with knowledge of their domain, many students and job aspirants often face hurdles of poor communication skills. Aiming to bridge this gap, the Papum Pare District Administration has established a Language laboratory at JNV, Gumto,” said Deputy Commissioner Papum Pare, Sachin Rana while launching the project in the presence of Doimukh ZPM Techi Rakap, SDO Sabadam Tayang, EAC cum DRDA Project Director in-charge Dr Nikita Panggam, DPO Lokam Chayu and others.
DC Rana further informed that the Language lab  possesses a tried and tested curriculum to teach English language and make students ready for writing and speaking English language. The lab helps students to improve pronunciations by recording the sentences, listening to them  and  correcting the pronunciations.
“ The software based learning also helps teacher to keep track of lessons along with regular evaluation of the students,” he said while advising the teacher in charge of the lab to regularly evaluate the children.
He further suggested for forming 'English Speaking Clubs' which should be a mixture of the teachers and the students and which shall be a platform for discourses in English language.
Later the DC interacted with the teachers of the School and advised them to  strive to provide holistic education to the children.
The Laboratory funded under the untied funds of the District Administration is being technically supported by Delhi based My STEM labs.
