Roing, Sep 25: A checking and penalty drive to fine people not following the regulation of mandatory wearing of face mask in public places was conducted today in the market areas of Roing town. 12 teams led by executive magistrates were formed and placed at various locations of the market areas to check shopkeepers and public who flouted the rules.
Altogether 193 people were fined ` 500 per person for not wearing face masks.
The District Administration has advised people to mandatorily wear face masks while going out in public to stop the spread of COVID-19 in the district. Anyone flouting the rules will be fined during the regular penalty drives that will be conducted in the future. DIPRO
