Khonsa, Jul 23: In the wake of detection of 13 new Covid-19 positive cases on Wednesday, Tirap DC Bhanu Prabha made an appeal to the people of the district not to panic unnecessarily assuring that all necessary measures in its response have been taken by the District Administration.
Among the 13 new counts, 9 are CRPF returnees and 4 from the Assam Rifles. DC informed that the Assam Rifles personnel have been evacuated to Army Hospital Dinjan for further treatment and the CRPF personnel have been kept in strict isolation at the CRPF Quarantine Facility under constant supervision by the DA and Health department. Commandant 36Bn CRPF has assured to impose restriction on movements outside their QC centre, she said.
DC further informed that antigen testing kits which take 15-20 minutes for confirmation of cases have been installed at Hukanjuri checkgate to ensure that all persons entering Tirap are tested, adding that in case of positive results, the persons will be immediately sent to the facility centre.
While appealing the district’s people to refrain from panicking, DC also reminded them to observe all the MHA-mandated SOPs such as compulsory use of masks in public, social distancing, use of hand sanitizer etc. DIPRO
