Hollongi,  May 31: 12 NDRF, Itanagar organised a plantation drive today in collaboration with Arunachal Pradesh government as “Mission: 01 Lakh” under the aegis of MHA’s “Akhil Bhartiya Vriksharopan Abhiyan” to enhance the purity of environment. 
Chief Minister Pema Khandu, joined the plantation drive through Video Conference while  Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar was present at the Hollongi campus. 
Satya Narayan Pradhan, IPS, DG NDRF, Amrendra Kumar Sengar, IPS, IG NDRF, Mohsen Shahedi, DIG, Manoj Kumar Yadav, DIG, K. K. Singh, DIG and Commandants of all units of NDRF also joined through Video Conferencing.
Around 1,000 saplings were planted during the programme and 12 NDRF will plant more trees in the upcoming days to enhance the greenery of Arunachal Pradesh.
Chief Secretary  proposed to design an awareness programme on disaster management for 10-15 days of ordinary, medium and advance level  for the inhabitants of towns and villages of Arunachal Pradesh. Participants from neighbouring South Asian countries and participants from other North-eastern states can also join the programme. He also suggested to plant saplings in higher secondary and secondary schools of Itanagar capital complex. He told that the Arunachal government is planning to establish five relief supply centers in the state and asked the NDRF to provide a standard design for the same.
Chief Minister Khandu praised the efforts of the NDRF to plant 1 lakh trees in the nearby areas of Itanagar capital complex. He also suggested to organize workshop as proposed by Chief Secretary in Arunachal Pradesh and desired to jointly take up the proposal with the Ministry of External Affairs and Ministry of Home Affairs. He also appreciated the work done by NDRF in the field of Disaster management.
