AALO, Nov 26: The Aalo Area Students’ Union (AASU) has called for a 12-hour Aalo bandh on November 30 next.
The bandh has been called due to the inordinate delay in the construction of a 2-lane road from 314.25-km- 351.383-km of the Pangin-Potin NH13 (package 9 under SADP-NE by violating all norms of EPC agreement.)
Writing to the West Siang deputy commissioner, AASU president Dojum Ete claimed that the construction agency- SRK Construction and Private Limited and a few unqualified construction agencies have failed to honour the EPC agreement. He accused the construction agencies of harassing commuters by delaying the road construction.
Ete also claimed that they found that the construction agency engaged unqualified contractors without the guidance of engineers and experts in the construction works.
The construction of such a big project without the guidance of engineers and experts may pose threat to people in the future, Ete said adding that the Trans Arunachal Highway project is not like PMGSY or any other road work.
Expressing concern over the delay in execution of package 9, he said the general public of the area is agitated.
Meanwhile, the West Siang unit of the Galo Youth Organization and Memo Ao Youth Association have decided to support and join AASU in enforcing the bandh.
