ITANAGAR, Jul 6:The 116th Birth Anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, was observed by BJP Arunachal Pradesh today at State Office at Itanagar with full reverence and solemnity.

To commemorate the occasion, Swaach Bharat Abhiyan and tree plantation was carried out at Arunadoya Government Higher Secondary School.

Delivering the keynote address, Minister Education, Honchun Ngandam, dwelt on the life and work of Dr. Mukherjee and highlighted his various achievements and contribution to Indian politics.

The principal resource person of the occasion, former State BJP President and presently Advisor to Chief Minister, Tai Tagak in his speech termed Dr. Mukherjee as ‘Tiger of Bengal’ and a lifelong nationalist who fought for nationalism and gave up his life fighting for integration of India. He also delved into the history of BJP and gave an overview of the different phases of BJP from Jana Sangh to Bharatiya Janata Party. He further reiterated to the gathering that BJP is a cadre based party with certain core values based on the doctrines of Integral Humanism propounded by Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay.

In his presidential remark, State President Tapir Gao, described the life of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee as a philosophy that provides an alternative approach to politics and governance. He urged all the participants present to read his works to appreciate his doctrines and to understand the bedrock of values of BJP as a party.
