Guwahati, Jul 17: An interactive session titled ‘Crisis Communication, Crisis Management and Delivery in Government Working’ was conducted here on Friday by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) Guwahati which was participated by the students and faculties of Rajiv Gandhi University.
The main objective of the session was to make the students aware and enhance their knowledge about how the government information system works in disseminating information during situations of crisis. Chairing the session, Head of Department, Directorate General, North East Zone, Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, LR Vishwanath said that communication during crises is challenging as it involves taking decisions regarding what to communicate and in which mode. He made a presentation on topics such as crisis communication, crisis management and delivery in government working followed by a question-answer session.
HoD, RGU’s Department of Mass Communication, Professor Dr. Khaba Kabi expressed his gratitude to PIB Guwahati and to the NEZ DG for conducting the lively session. Joint Director, PIB Guwahati Keerti Tiwari delivered the welcome address and Field Exhibition Officer, Regional Outreach Bureau, Guwahati Hiramani Das was the moderator.
The session was attended by around 30 participants. PIB
