Eastern Sentinel Arunachal News

A Sainik School is always counted as a first-rated educational asset for any state since its ‘products’ i.e the students have always proved to be of high quality human resource for the nation. After a long wait although Arunachal finally had one just two years back in 2018 at Niglok in East Siang, the way it had been functioning so far in terms of infrastructural yardsticks, can never be called befitting compared to its any counterpart found elsewhere in the country. There had been numerous visits, both by ministerial and bureaucratic levels in past and the singular clamour had been the school comes up in a fashion it is exactly meant for- best all-round infrastructure to churn out best students. During his visit on Friday, Governor had also reiterated the same once more and this is an important message before actual commencement of construction, needed to be kept in mind by all stakeholders. This is since, a lot of state prestige will be associated with it and not only within-schedule completion, an equal degree of stringent vigil must also be kept to make sure it is qualitatively at par or even more vis-à-vis the rest ones.
Just as there are many unanswered questions regarding why development, cutting across a wide range of sectors, hadn’t reached Arunachal Pradesh in a way it should have been, while coming to having educational institutions of national prominence, the query, without fail will also persist. Coming to Sainik Schools, the state had to wait more than three decades of attaining statehood to have one such which is rather incomprehensible given its exemplary contribution of fierce nationalism in the 1962 Indo-China war. From a welfare nation pursuing the idea of equitable development, it can only be expected that a constituent state of the union making such extraordinary contributions to uphold national territorial integrity be aptly rewarded within a reasonable period of time after such an event, with a school of this sort which serves as a great platform for making future army personnel. But somehow it hadn’t happened and even if after commencement, this particular school, Arunachal’s lone so far, has been struggling without having an own building, forget about playground or the facilities needed for physical upliftment of wards which is vital for embracing future military regimen.
Not only building it fast and with care is the demand of the hour, the idea of having at least one more Sainik School in state will sound nothing extraterrestrial, when its central motto is to wipe out regional imbalance in officer cadres of defence forces. To lay the path for more Arunachalees to enter the defence apparatus, this is also equally vital.
