Deomali, Jun 3: An awareness camp cum River Ranching was organised on Saturday by the Department of Fisheries,Tirap District, under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY).
ADC, Deomali,  Vishakha Yadav attended the occasion as chief guest along with  ZPMs Wangphoon Lowang, and Sam Korok. 
In the event about 35,000 numbers of fish fingerlings were released in the River Namchu of Namsang village. P Songtheng, subject matter specialist (Fishery) KVK Tirap, spoke about the destructive fishing practices which degrades the river ecosystem and urged the villagers to use eco-friendly fishing methods to conserve the eco-system for sustainability, productivity and a better future.
