AALO, Apr 2: Acting on the Supreme Court order and direction by the West Siang Collector of Tax and Excise, a team of officers led by Circle Officer Lijum Ete, Superintendent of Tax and Excise Kojar Nake along with police and tax and excise officials sealed 58 wine shops falling under 500 metres distance from National and State Highway within Aalo township on April 1 last. While sealing the shops, it was found that owners of few shops have either shifted to different locations beyond 500 metres or pre-empted their liquors after the expiry
of deadline served to them for shifting the shops. The order by the Supreme Court has hit hard the license holders as most of the commercial lands fall on the side of national and state highways only.
