KHONSA, Dec 15 : The TDS Income Tax Office, based in Tinsukia, Assam, in collaboration with the Tirap District Administration organized a comprehensive workshop on Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) and Tax Collected at Source (TCS) for Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) of Tirap District.
ADC Khonsa, Hakresha Kri, presided over the training program and urged all DDOs in attendance to actively engage and absorb the valuable insights provided by the resource persons from the Income Tax Department in Tinsukia. The objective was to equip the DDOs with the necessary knowledge concerning TDS and TCS deductions from the salaries of government employees.
The workshop featured informative sessions led by Supratim Purkayastha, an Income Tax Officer from Tinsukia, and Amitabh Shekhar Gupta, Inspector of IT. These sessions covered the intricacies of TDS and TCS, shedding light on the crucial roles of DDOs in managing these deductions.
Noteworthy attendees at the training program included Pik Tayom, Financial & Accounts Officer of DC’s office, Khonsa, Nangram Pingkap, PD(DRDA), Mino Tayeng, Treasury Officer, and various DDOs and accounts staff from different offices of Tirap district.
The workshop proved to be a valuable platform for enhancing the understanding of TDS and TCS among DDOs, contributing to their proficiency in managing financial matters related to government employees. The collaborative effort between the TDS Income Tax Office and Tirap District Administration underscores the commitment to fostering financial literacy and compliance in the region.
