Roing, Jul 31: A two-day vocational education (Learn N Fun) programme was conducted for the children of Child Care Institution, Roing by the District Child Protection Unit, Department of Women and Child Development, Lower Dibang Valley district.
The objective of vocational education was to explore the children’s creativity and imagination. The activities aimed to help the children improve their way of thinking, feeling and behaving, as well as gain confidence, sense of achievement and learn new skills.
The programme was attended by children and staff of Children’s Home, Specialised Adoption Agency (SAA), Chairperson Nani Maria Society and DCPU Roing, altogether there were 80 participants in the programme. Certificates were awarded to 53 participants.
Deputy Director (ICDS) Cum DCPO, G. A. Perying shared the importance of vocational educational for the children and encouraged children to take part with full involvement.
During the technical session, the resource persons covered various topics. Resource Person Sabnam Ray (Manager Academic, Team Lease service ltd, Bangalore) covered the topics on Introductions of self, importance of proper body language, how to develop career map, and planning of daily activities. Sashi Pratatp Sah (Project Manager, Trio VidyakKendra Pvt. Ltd, Bangalore) focused on Ice breaking session, brain storming session, goals discussion and fun activities (Pictionary, Bingo, math baseball etc) and Sasanka Saikia (Freelance Artist, A&C Organization, Nisha Art & Crafts School Guwahati) took up Art and Craft activities for the children.
