Yingkiong, Feb 11: Raising awareness on internet online safety and digital well-being, Upper Siang joined the rest of the world in celebrating ‘Safer Internet Day’ with the theme ’Together for Better Internet’ here today.
Deputy Commissioner Talo Jerang, in his keynote address emphasised on internet literacy, highlighting the importance of digital skills and knowledge for individuals to function in today’s digital world. Citing the significance of digital awareness among the public, the DC also asked DIO to conduct similar workshops for general public, businessmen, youths, women groups etc., to raise awareness on safe use of internet and to remain alert from digital fraud.
To mark the day, DIO Rishi Raj gave power point presentation on safer internet day and elucidated on advantages and disadvantages of internet use. He advised the participants to use government generated email ids for official correspondence and avoid using office Wi-Fi for personal use particularly for social media from security point of view.
