Yingkiong, Sep 13: A meeting in connection with the successful celebration of nationwide campaign--Swachhata Hi Seva 2024 from September 14 to October 2 next under Swachh Bharat Mission Programme  was held here under the Chaimanship of Upper Siang Deputy Commissioner cum Chairman DUDA, Hage Lailang Deputy Commissioner on Thursday.
The meeting attended by Head of Offices, Staff,  NGOs, Public leaders, Self Help Groups, Market Committees, President & Secretaries of wards, shopkeepers, urban dwellers etc., was organized by the Department of UD &Housing in collaboration with the District Administration.
At the very outset, while highlighting the importance of the nationwide campaign- Swachchta HI Seva as the event also marks the 10h anniversary of the launch of the Swachh Bharat Mission,  the DC urged for mass participation of citizens and officials to ensure success of the programme. He also acknowledged the participants about the  main purpose of the campaign which is to facilitate large scale advocacy and citizen participation for Swachhata, mega cleanliness drives and cleaning of dirty and difficult garbage spots(black spots),plantation etc.
Responding to the suggestions and advices put forward by various speakers, the Deputy Commissioner assured to discuss and issue executive order to remove unused vehicles lying along the road side in Yingkiong Township and also cautioned action against violators causing unlawful activities in the town as per law.
Earlier, Er. Ramu Welly,Executive Engineer (UD&H)cum Member Secretary, DUDA,Upper Siang Distict briefly explained about the series of activities to be carried under the campaign.
