Nirjuli, Sep 19: A tragic accident on the newly inaugurated Karsingsa-Nirjuli Viaduct Bridge claimed two lives this evening when two motorcycles collided on the bridge. According to police reports, two individuals died on the spot, while two others sustained injuries.
The deceased have been identified as Nabam Ajay (27) from Lundang village, Balijan, and Benjamin Sonesara (40) from Bhisrampur, Assam.
The injured, Lokam Jaju from Dikrong village, Nirjuli, and Jacob Parah from Banderdewa, were immediately rushed to Tomo Riba Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Naharlagun for urgent medical treatment.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the collision, and traffic safety measures on the bridge are being reviewed in the aftermath of this tragic incident, informed police official.
