ITANAGAR, Feb 5: The Arunachal Pradesh Trade Union Federation (APTUF) has reiterated its appeal to the state government to address its long-pending demands, which aim to improve the welfare of workers and the general public.
Speaking to the media at the Press Club on Wednesday, APTUF Secretary General Kenkar Yomcha stated that the federation had previously submitted a charter of demands to the government in the interest of the workers’ community. While acknowledging that many of these demands have been fulfilled, he expressed appreciation for Chief Minister Pema Khandu’s efforts in addressing them.
Yomcha further added, several key demands remain unaddressed, prompting the federation to urge the government to take immediate action. Among the pending issues, APTUF is demanding an increase in the grade pay of Work-Charged (WC) employees, including WC computer operators, from the existing 1,900 to 2,400. The federation is also calling for the creation of a one-time WC post in every engineering department, the exclusion of Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) posts from the Arunachal Pradesh Staff Selection Board (APSSB) interview process, and the regularization of contingency and casual workers who have completed 15 years.
We are ready to assist the government, said APTUF General Secretary, while urging the state government to act promptly on these remaining demands, emphasizing the need for fair treatment and better job security for the workforce.
