“We have a strong team of committee members who are supporting my candidature. The present MLA is from National People’s Party (NPP) and I don’t see he can avail the ruling party ticket for contesting the election,” she said, adding that only BJP can bring a change in the recently created district.
She said though BJP could not attain win in the last general assembly election, the party along with the support of former political leaders and workers will ensure the win the next election.
Nyabi said that the Leparada district is a new district born recently and lacks major development. Hence, to ensure state government support in bringing development and transforming Basar into model district headquarter, the win of a BJP leader is important.
Meanwhile, former minister and also the organising chairman of the rally, Gojen Gadi said that he has the consent of the Chief Minister Pema Khandu to support the aspiring candidate Nyabi Jini Dirchi. Moreover, the present MLA Gokar Basar is from NPP and has no right to appeal for BJP ticket from the party.
“I declined contesting the election due to personal reasons. However, we, the bureaucrats, technocrats, political leaders and the public have decided to support her (Dirchi's) candidature following series of meetings earlier,” he said.
Gadi also informed that Nyabi Jini Dirchi has full support of the party, state government and also the public of the Constituency. Therefore, her win in the ensuing election is guaranteed.
