Tawang, Feb 8: An awareness program on road safety took place at the DC office premises in Tawang, organized by the District Transport Office as part of National Road Safety Month. Attendees included members of the Taxi Union, the general public, and government officials.
Deputy Commissioner Kanki Darang distributed information booklets on road safety, emphasizing the importance of avoiding rash driving and adhering to traffic rules. He also cautioned against alcohol consumption while driving, extending well wishes for the upcoming Lossar festival.
District Transport Officer Choiki Dondup highlighted the ongoing daily awareness programs across various locations in the district during National Road Safety Month. Acknowledging India's alarming road accident statistics, he stressed the need for heightened awareness in Tawang, a small town experiencing significant tourist influx.
