Tawang, Jul 8: A meeting to review the monsoon preparedness and precautions on glacial lake outburst flood (GLOF) was held today at Tawang. 
Deputy Commissioner, Tawang, Kanki Darang chaired the meeting in which all the members of District Disaster Management authority were present.
Addressing the members, the DC said that natural calamity like flood or cloud burst can happen anytime so we have to ensure that men and material are ready to cope with such situation is very important. He asked the DDMA members especially the army and paramilitary forces including Border road organisation, WRD and PWD to be in alert, since they have more trained personnel and materials at their disposal. He reminded the unfortunate incident of sudden flash floods in Kedarnath and Sikkim and recently in Capital Itanagar area.
DDMO Tawang Genden Tsomu earlier informed the members on probable chances of GLOF from few lakes situated in Tawang district and alerted the administrative outposts and army camps located in the downstream of those areas. She further informed that on approval from the government a team of DDMA will visit probable sites of GLOF.
The DDMA members also presented their suggestions and information on disaster preparedness.
