DOIMUKH, Oct 1: A massive clean drive was conducted today along the Dikrong River near the Saturday market area in Doimukh here today. Over 6,500 kilograms of plastic waste was removed from the riverbed.
The cleaning was organized by NSS-cell and NCC-Unit of Rajiv Gandhi University and the Youth Mission for Clean River.
More than 100 students from the university and Government college, Doimukh participated in the cleanup drive.
Gomar Basar, Assistant Registrar (Academics) and NSS Program Officer RGU, emphasized the importance of preserving Arunachal Pradesh's rivers, which are a vital part of the state's identity.
He expressed gratitude to the Youth Mission for Clean River for their ongoing efforts to conserve these natural resources. Basar also pledged the support of NSS and NCC volunteers to future cleanup initiatives organized by the NGO.
