Itanagar, Mar 7: The All Arunachal Pradesh Wushu Association led by President Tach Tadar today welcomed back athletes who participated in the Moscow Stars Championship, Moscow (Russia) held from February 28 to March 5.
As part of Indian Wushu Team, seven Arunachal athletes took part in different weight and age categories namely Ram Nopi (U-60 Kg, Senior), Abhijit Buragohain(U-60 kg Senior), Chou Sumentha Longkan (U- 56 kg, Senior),H..Bhumika Devi ( U-52 Kg, Junior ), Onilu Tega (U-52 Kg, Senior), Laatwang Kamhua (U-48 kg, Senior) and Adi Natung (U-48 kg, Junior).
They bagged 5 medals (4 golds and 1 bronze), showcasing their skills and determinations in the international event. Athletes from 30 countries took part in the prestigious championship.
State Wushu star Miss Onilu Tega, once again proved her dominance in the international arena by clinching one Gold in U-52 Kg (Senior) with her remarkable skill and strategy. She also won one gold in the same tournament at Moscow in the year 2023.
Abhijit Buragohain, Laatwang Kamhua and H..Bhumika Devibagged one gold each in U-60 kg (Senior), U-48kg (Senior)and U-52 Kg (Junior ) respectively. One bronze was bagged by Chou Sumetha Longkan in U-56 kg (Senior).
Onilu Tega, Laatwang Kamhua and Chou Sumetha Longkan are athletes of Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy, Chimpu (Itanagar) trained under Wushu Coach M. Premchandra Singh.
Abhijit Buragohain and H..Bhumika Devi are undergoing training at National Centre of Excellance (NCoE), SAI , Itanagar under Umesh Kumar Yadav (Wushu Coach , SAI).
