LUNGLA, Nov 25: The State Information Commissioner, Sonam Yudron, conducted an awareness session on the Right to Information Act at Lungla. The program was attended by the In-Charge ADC Lungla, Deewan Mara, ZPM Lungla Thutan Gombu, along with other officers and members of the public.
During the event, the SIC highlighted the importance of timely information provision by PIOs to avoid misunderstanding and doubt. Emphasizing the significance of proper documentation and record-keeping, the SIC suggested the documentation of project sites before, during, and after completion through photography. Additionally, she advised the dissemination of detailed project information on nearby notice boards after completion, enabling public access.
The SIC also stressed the need to refrain from misleading appellants and discussed the nuances of maintaining secrecy concerning sensitive information related to national security and personal safety.
Furthermore, detailed explanations regarding various provisions of the RTI Act 2005 were provided.
The open discussion session allowed PIOs and the public to address their queries and clarify doubts related to the RTI Act.
