ITANAGAR, Oct 9:  The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has called for the urgent resurfacing of National Highway – 415 in the Itanagar capital complex, insisting that this be completed within one month.
During a press conference held at the Arunachal Press Club on Monday, APCC Spokesperson Zirgi Kadu expressed concern over the deteriorating condition of the road network and drainage systems within the capital complex. Kadu criticized the BJP-led government under Chief Minister Pema Khandu for seemingly prioritizing festivals over essential infrastructure maintenance.
He emphasized that the current administration has allowed the state's road infrastructure to deteriorate, leaving citizens to cope with the resulting difficulties. Kadu pointed out that the inefficiency of the government has also led to worsening traffic congestion on NH-415, demanding a comprehensive plan to alleviate these issues for the benefit of the people.
Kadu highlighted the critical role of drainage systems in preserving road quality, noting that the condition of stretches from Banderdewa to Chimpu has notably worsened due to inadequate planning and execution of drainage systems.
Further, the Congress party called on the state government to ensure uninterrupted power and round-the-clock water supply to residents. They argued that if citizens are subjected to taxation, they should have the right to access these essential services without interruptions.
