ITANAGAR, Mar 13: The State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has lauded the state government for passing what it describes as a people-friendly and progressive budget for the financial year 2025-26.
Addressing a press conference at the Arunachal Press Club (APC) on Thursday, MLA Roing and Advisor to the Education & Home Minister, Mutchu Mithi, praised the budget as a historic milestone that prioritizes all key sectors essential for the state's growth.
Mithi emphasized that the budget, passed in the Arunachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly on March 12, reflects a comprehensive vision for development, addressing the needs of every section of society. He highlighted two key initiatives introduced in this year’s budget— the Rural Road Development Programme and the Rural Electrification Programme, which aim to improve connectivity and provide electricity to remote and unconnected villages.
"The BJP-led government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Pema Khandu and Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein, has once again reaffirmed its commitment to the people by giving special attention to education, health, agriculture, tourism, infrastructure, and communication. This year’s budget has allocated an all-time high of ₹3,000 crore for the education sector, ensuring significant reforms and improvements in the state’s educational infrastructure," Mithi stated.
He further asserted that the people of Arunachal Pradesh have high expectations from the Pema Khandu led BJP government, which has consistently focused on holistic development and human values. The ruling BJP is deeply grateful to the state government for prioritizing fundamental sectors crucial to Arunachal Pradesh’s progress, added Mithi.
A key highlight of this year’s budget is the salary enhancement for contingency and casual laborers, including ALC workers, who will now receive an increment of ₹6,000 per month—the highest ever granted in the state. Mithi expressed his appreciation for this decision, stating that it reflects the government’s concern for the working class and its dedication to improving their livelihoods.
With this budget, the Arunachal Pradesh government has taken another step forward in strengthening the state’s infrastructure, empowering its people, and ensuring inclusive development across all sectors, asserted MLA Mutchu Mithi.
