ITANAGAR, Oct 6: The Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy, Chimpu, Itanagar, was filled with pride as it felicitated its remarkable Wushu players, Onilu Tega, Nyeman Wangsu, and Mepung Lamgu, who earned the prestigious opportunity to participate in the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou, China. The event took place today in the presence of the Director of Sports, Officers of the Sports Dept and Principal of Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy, along with faculty members and students.
The three talented athletes, under the expert and able guidance of their dedicated coach, M. Premchandra Singh, have been diligently honing their skills since their admission to Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy in the year 2013. Their selection for the Asian Games was a testament to their unwavering commitment to their sport and their relentless pursuit of excellence.
Despite the challenges posed by accreditation card (Visa dispute) by the host Nation, the athletes shared their heartfelt thoughts on the honor of being selected to represent their nation on the prestigious event.
Likha Vida, Principal of Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy, applauded the extraordinary efforts of these athletes and encouraged not only them but also all students of the academy to wholeheartedly devote themselves to their training and coaching in their respective sports disciplines.
Director of Sports, Tadar Appa, expressed immense pride in the accomplishment, highlighting that it is a momentous occasion for the Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy. He expressed his hope that more students from various disciplines at the academy would follow the footsteps of these outstanding athletes, shining at both the national and international levels. He aspires for the academy to become one of the premier sports institutions not only in Arunachal but also in the entire North East region.
The felicitation ceremony was attended by dignitaries from the Directorate of Sports, dedicated coaches, instructors, teachers, and the enthusiastic students of Sangay Lhaden Sports Academy.
