ITANAGAR, May 13:  The Special Investigation Cell (Vigilance) commemorated its 20th Foundation Day on Monday at Nokmey Namati Hall, State Legislative Assembly.
Established on May 12, 2005, the SIC was designated as a specialized agency tasked with investigating cases involving public servants, including those falling under the purview of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
The event was attended by esteemed dignitaries, with the Director General of Police, Anand Mohan, IPS, attending as the Chief Guest, and  Habung Lampung, APCS, Deputy Secretary (Vigilance), as the Guest of Honour.
Speaking on the occasion, DGP commended the SIC for commemorating its inaugural foundation day after two decades of dedicated service, emphasizing the significance of making this celebration an annual tradition. He hailed the SIC's evolution into a trusted institution, renowned for its exemplary investigative prowess, particularly in recent years.
Highlighting the importance of technological advancements, skill enhancement, and adherence to best practices, the DGP underscored the necessity for the SIC to continually adapt and fortify itself to meet emerging challenges effectively. He praised the successful execution of the state's first trap operation, which solidified the SIC's reputation as a formidable anti-corruption agency. Moreover, the DGP presented the ISO 9001:2015 certification—an international quality management standard—to the Police Station SIC (Vigilance), acknowledging its commitment to transparency, standardized procedures, and qualitative improvements in operations. This distinction possibly marks a first among Anti-Corruption Police Stations nationwide.
Deputy Secretary (Vigilance), Lampung, emphasized the imperative of enhanced collaboration with the public to combat corruption effectively. He lauded the synchronized efforts of the Vigilance Department and the SIC in recent years, fostering synergy in their endeavors.
The ceremony, attended by officials from the SIC, Vigilance Department, and Legislative Assembly, served as a testament to the SIC's unwavering dedication to combat corruption and uphold the principles of integrity and accountability in governance, stated a release.
