ITANAGAR, May 27:  The Special Investigation Cell (Vigilance) has made another arrest in connection with the ongoing investigation into illegal appointments in the Education Department of Siang District. 
The case was initially lodged on December 20, 2023, following complaints by Shri Tajing Saroh, who reported irregularities in the appointments under the Education Department in Siang District. 
After a comprehensive review of documents, detailed interrogation of the appointees and other suspects, and technical analysis, the SIC (Vigilance) has arrested another accused on May 27. The arrested individual is identified as  Nong Paron, aged 37, who serves as an Upper Division Clerk (UDC) in the Office of the Deputy Director of School Education (DDSE) Boleng. 
The SIC (Vigilance) continues its thorough investigation into all aspects of the illegal appointment case, ensuring that every detail is scrutinized and all involved parties are held accountable, stated SP-SIC Anant Mittal in a press statement. 
This arrest marks a significant development in the case, highlighting the ongoing efforts of the authorities to address and rectify corruption and malpractices within the government sector. Further updates will follow as the investigation progresses, stated the release.
Earlier the case was  registered as SIC (VIG) PS C/No. 09/2023 under sections 120(B)/420/468/471/409 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) read with Section 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988, pertains to the illegal appointment of Primary Teachers (PRTs) and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS).
