DOIMUKH, Jun 19: In a heart-wrenching incident, a Class 11 student, Tao Agung Tara, lost his life after being struck by a train near the Kolma railway track on Tuesday last. The incident occurred around 8:00 AM when the young student, a dedicated learner from Government Higher Secondary School Doimukh and a resident of Silsango village, was tragically hit from behind by the train.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Papum Pare, Taru Gusar, reported that an Unnatural Death (UD) case was registered. Law enforcement officials promptly visited the scene, conducted an inquest, and prepared the body for a post-mortem examination (PME). However, the father of the deceased requested the Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) of Doimukh to release the body without conducting a PME, citing no suspicions of foul play. Consequently, the body was handed over to the family as per the SDO’s orders.
In the wake of this tragic event, SP Taru Gusar has issued a strong advisory to the residents of Doimukh and surrounding areas. The advisory urges individuals to avoid jogging or walking along railway tracks, highlighting the inherent dangers of these operational zones with fast-moving trains.
"Railway tracks are not safe for pedestrians. We urge everyone to prioritize safety and avoid these areas to prevent further accidents," emphasized SP Gusar. He stressed that community cooperation in staying away from railway tracks can significantly reduce the risk of such devastating incidents, ensuring the safety and well-being of all residents.
