Naharlagun, Nov 23: Likha Saaya, former MLA and National People's Party State working president, emphasized the urgency of completing the under-construction Film and Television Institute, Jote to cater to the aspirations of budding filmmakers.
Speaking at the prestigious 1st Nyishi Filmfare Award Ceremony on Wednesday, Saaya highlighted the film and television industry's crucial role in showcasing the state nationally and internationally.
Saaya encouraged young filmmakers to embrace their dialects, fostering the state's cultural diversity.
The event celebrated outstanding films, with "Tear & Paradise" by Tai Gungtey from Gungte Frame winning the Future Film category and "Embrace-A Beautiful Soul Within" by Topan Rimo, Spark Film
Production, securing the Best Short Film accolade.
Tada Kaku, Chairman of the Nyishi Film Fare Award 2023, expressed gratitude to participants and urged filmmakers to pursue their passion wholeheartedly for success.
The awards ceremony, held at Capital Dree Ground, 6-kilo Papu Nallah, marked a significant moment for the thriving film community in the state.
