Itanagar, Aug 2: Expanding the academic colorations in South East Asia, RIWATCH signed a memorandum of understanding with ‘’Institut Agama Hindu Nageri Tampung Penyang” (IAHN-TP) Palanka Raya, Indonesia. The objective is to promote cross-cultural studies on oral traditions and language promotion, sharing best practices in environment studies and sustainable development, and organizing study abroad programs among students and faculties of both the institutes.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Mujiyono, Rector, on behalf IAHN Tampung Penyang, Palanka Raya- Indonesia and Vijay Swami, Executive Director, on behalf of RIWATCH, India in the presence of Dr. Tiwi Etika, Vice Rector IAHN, Dr. Budi Purnomo, SH, M. SI., IAHN and Smti. Mishimbu Miri, DRC, Dibrugarh.
IAHN-TP is one of the largest institutes of Indonesia, based on the island of Kalimantan, sponsored by the Ministry of Religious Affairs, Govt. of Indonesia. It runs fourteen study programs, approved by the National Accreditation Body for Higher Education and has made significant progress in implementing the three pillars of higher education viz. the education, research, and community service.
Earlier, the Executive Director, Vijay Swami delivered a Keynote address at the International Conference organized by IAHN-TP at Kalimantan, Indonesia on ‘Navigating the Future: Addressing Global Issues in 2024 and Beyond’. Furthering the discussion, both the Institutes agreed to collaborate on activities in the key areas such as academic, research, community service and culture.
