ANINI, Nov 17: The 2016-17 batch of the Rajiv Gandhi Students Union (RGUSU) donated over 150 books to the Government Higher Secondary School in Anini, Dibang Valley here today in presence of the District Director of School Education (DDSE), G. Umbrey, and the School Principal.
The former RGUSU team also engaged with the students through an awareness program emphasizing the significance of cultivating reading culture in their lives and its potential advantages in shaping their future. They encouraged the students to be diligent learners, aspire for success, and, in turn, contribute to society in their unique capacities.
Addressing the gathering, Keyom Doni, the chairman of the book donation drive, shared that their annual reunion program serves as a platform to give back to society. 
He highlighted the collaborative effort, mentioning that the books were contributed not only by their batch but also by individuals from across the state who supported the cause.
During the event, speakers shared inspiring messages, urging students to embrace education as a tool for personal growth and societal betterment. One former RGUSU member emphasized, "A well-read mind is a powerful mind. Cultivating a habit of reading opens doors to endless possibilities and knowledge, empowering individuals to navigate the challenges of life with resilience."
The DDSE and School Principal commended the RGUSU team, acknowledging the noble cause behind their initiative. They expressed gratitude for the valuable contribution towards enriching the learning environment of the school.
