Itanagar, Aug 20: Arunachal Pradesh Women’s Welfare Society (APWWS) has expressed disappointment over the delay in arresting the main accused, Nason Borang, in the Olip Litin Mukerjee death case.
Pasighat police has not arrested the accused even after his bail was rejected on August 13 last by the District and Sessions Court, Pasighat, East Siang District.
This delay is causing deep disappointment to the deceased's family and the APWWS, which strongly stands with the mother in her fight for justice for her late son, Olip Litin Mukerjee. We appeal to the Pasighat Police to arrest the alleged accused immediately, it said in a statement.
In a shocking turn of events, Olip Litin Mukherjee, a 21-year-old resident of Gumin Nagar, was declared dead on arrival at a local hospital on July 20 last. The victim’s mother, Mohimang Litin, filed an FIR alleging that her son had been assaulted and beaten to death by the staff at the Serene Life Foundation Rehabilitation Centre,Pasighat.
