BOMDILA, Oct 1: To mark the closing ceremony of the 6th Rashtriya Poshan Maah, an elaborate recipe competition was conducted in the vibrant village of Pedung. Four self help groups from Sera and Pedung villages including Anganwadi workers participated in the competition.
Namchung SHG of Sera village claimed the 1st prize with their millet-based recipes focused mainly on children’s health and nutrition.
On the occasion, the Deputy Director ICDS West Kameng highlighted the main objective of conducting such recipe competitions at the village level, which is to promote the consumption of locally available food grains like millet. He also advised the villagers to use creativity and prepare tweaked millet-based recipes to attract children. (DIPRO)
