Itanagar, Mar 30: In the spirit of Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat, the State foundation day of Rajasthan was celebrated with fervent Rajasthani fervour and enthusiasm at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar on Saturday. The Governor
Lt. General K.T. Parnaik (Retd) and the First Lady of the State, Anagha Parnaik hosted a high tea and interacted with the invitees and participants.
Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said that celebrating the State foundation day of other States promotes amity and goodwill amongst the people. He said that it strengthens the spirit of unity in diversity.
Parnaik said that the history of Rajasthan is an important part of Indian history. He said that the State has always been synonymous with bravery and patriotism and it has been renowned for its cultural richness.
The Governor said that the people of Rajasthan are one of the most contributing communities in the developmental progress of Arunachal Pradesh. He commended the people for involving themselves with the cultural practices and traditions of the State.
Rajasthani people from all walks of life, from senior bureaucrats to businessmen in Arunachal Pradesh participated in the programmes depicting the rich cultural heritage of Rajasthan, They presented Rajasthani folk dances, including Kalbeliya, Ghoomar and Rajasthani Folk song ‘Dhamal’, on the occasion.
The audio visual message of the Governor of Rajasthan Kalraj Mishra was played on the occasion.
As a goodwill gesture, the Rajasthani community of Arunachal Pradesh served Rajasthani dishes ‘Dalbati’, ‘Churma’, ‘Ghewar’ and ‘Moong Ka Halwa’ to the guests and officials during the High Tea.
