HAYULIANG, Jan 3: Women and Child Development minister Dasanglu Pul visited the fire-affected Hayuliang Bazaar in Anjaw district on Wednesday to assess the situation and extend support to those affected.
At least 15 shops were gutted in a devastating fire that broke out at Hayuliang market around 4:30 am on January 30.
The blaze, which spread swiftly through the market—one of the oldest in the border district—destroyed the wooden-structured shops. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
As an immediate relief measure, Minister Pul announced financial assistance of `10,000 for each affected individual and `50,000 to `1,00,000 for shop owners who suffered losses in the fire.
"In these challenging times, standing together as a community is crucial. My thoughts and prayers are with all those affected, and I remain committed to supporting their recovery," she said during her visit.
