Banderdewa, Oct 21: Along with the rest of the country, the Arunachal Pradesh Police (APP) today observed the Police Commemoration Day as a mark of respect to those police personnel who laid down their life in the line of duty.
While observing the Commemoration Day, Director General of Police, Anand Mohan, said that on 21st October, 1959, 10 personnel of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were surrounded by Chinese army at Hot Spring (Ladakh) and those personnel fought bravely with the Chinese army and sacrificed their lives to protect the country.
"So, today we have gathered here to pay homage to those brave CRPF personnel and state and other states police personnel who laid down their lives for the security of our mother land in the last year," Mohan said.
Wreaths were placed at the memorial of the police martyrs by the DGP, top police officers and others.
Band play, Salami Shasta, trumpeters’ sound the “Rouse” and parade “Shok Shastra” were part of the programme.
